Online Poker Rooms Show Support
December 9, 2008
The Asian Poker Tour has been gaining more momentum, with many online poker
rooms joining them in their support. The APT has recently announced that
some of the biggest names in online poker sites have decided to pledge
sending their players to their events next year. This will greatly increase
both the visibility of the poker tour and their credibility.
The iPoker Network, PartyPoker.com, and EverestPoker.com have agreed along
with many other poker sites to send their players. They have joined PKR.com,
JBetPoker.com, PokerTrillion.com, World3DPoker.com, 888.com, the Microgaming
Network and the National Poker League in validating the poker tour.
The Manila based poker tour has recently released information on their first
event, which will be held from January 27th through February 1st of next
year. It will be held at the Dusit Thani Manila Hotel in Makati City and
will have a buy-in of $2,700.
The poker tour say that they are excited about next year’s event and believe
that they will grow quickly with this kind of dedication from the online
poker sites. With so many players qualifying through one of their poker
partners, they should not have any problems gaining strength and numbers.
They think that they will likely surpass how they did at last year’s poker
event. Chris Parker, the CEO for the APT says that they are expecting many
more players than they had last year, which only shows how well poker is
doing in Asia. They believe that it is about to take off.
