VC Poker Teams Up
With the UK Sun
A successful end has come to the online poker free roll tournament
hosted by VC Poker, which was marketed through the online version of
the UK Sun newspaper. After wrapping things up a the Palm
Beach Casino in London, Victor Chandler was very pleased with the
outcome of the tournament, as well as the companies broadened
relationship with the Sun, which prior to the poker tournament, had
only involved the Sun's sister news site, Page3.com.
Having a primarily male subscriber base, Page3.com was a viable way
for Victor Chandler to brand their poker room and raise the pot
sizes by attracting middle and upper class businessmen. The
Commercial Director for VC, Julian Barkes, commented that when the
Sun made it known they were interested in broadening their own
advertising services into the online poker market, the company
jumped at the opportunity to further develop their partnership.
Barkes also reported on the online poker tournament itself, citing
that during the course of its six-week-long run, take up levels were
quite impressive. As was expected, a very large turnout was
met. The Sun did wonders advertising for the event, having
posted a button advertisement on the main page of their online
sports section.
Victor Chandler plans to continue developing their white label
partnerships with large media outlets, which in addition to the UK
Sun, include Emap, the Telegraph, and the Racing Post.
