France and the Poker Channel Have Agreement
November 29, 2009
Bonjour poker players! It would appear that France is in support of poker
playing, and with watching it on the television. When you think about poker
quite often it is thought about in terms of the United States and cowboys,
etc., but many people don’t realize that poker players in France are aplenty
and they love to watch poker games on TV.
The Poker Channel is aware of this and have been working to get their show
broadcast in France. The Poker Channel is Europe’s largest television
network for gaming programming, and they have signed a distribution
agreement with Neufbox TV, the popular television service to bring the game
to more French players.
French poker players are already able to watch poker programming if they get
Numericable or Free, but if they don’t, and up until now many have not, they
do not get to watch some of the best poker playing out there today. This
deal will make the poker channel much more accessible to other French poker
viewers, to the tune of 18 million more homes.
They will now be able to watch some of the more exciting poker shows that
are French based as well, whereas before they were blocked from them being
able to watch them. One of the most popular games out there is Poker Heaven
European Cash Game Season 2 where French player Bruno Fitoussi will be
participating. Fitoussi is the third highest ranking poker player in the
country and players will be excited to watch him in action.
