Charity Poker Tournament Coming
November 30, 2009
Playing poker is just a whole lot of fun. Those people who play poker
professionally probably have the best jobs in eh world. Not only do they get
to spend their days and/or nights playing at a game that they love, but they
get paid for doing it. Not only that, but many of them make a really good
living off of it. Look at the World Series of Poker – the top winner gets
more than eight million dollars! For playing poker! Now that is a job I
think most people could get behind.
But with great power comes great responsibility and in this case – great
poker playing. Those poker professionals that are really worth their salt
are not just out there playing poker and winning themselves millions of
dollars – many of them are using their skills for good. Many of them donate
a significant portion of their proceeds to charities that are near their
hearts and some play poker for charity instead.
The Ante Up for Africa Poker Charity Tournament brings in a lot of stars –
both famous poker players and not. You see the likes of Ben Affleck, Matt
Damon, Jennifer Tilley – these are people you normally see on screen, but
now they are playing poker to raise money for Africa. The organization is
having a pretournament poker game to raise awareness as well, and anyone can
play.
The special poker tournament will have a buy in of $1 + $10 and the proceeds
will go toward the Ante Up for Africa organization. Annie Duke is a
well known poker player and she will be out there with the rest of them
raising money for a cause she truly believes in. She is hoping that you will
help our as well.
