Ultimate Bet About Ultimate Charity
November 29, 2009
The popular poker site Ultimate Bet should really change their name to
Ultimate Charity. The poker site has been in the news before for their
charitable acts and contributions, but they have now found a way to increase
the amount of money that they are able to give out – and make it fun at the
same time. They are offering two charity poker events, and players are going
to want to line up for this so that they can be a part of it.
The poker site is offering two poker games that are for charity, after poker
games that aren’t. After Day Three of the current Aruba Poker Classic
finished, the poker site offered players the chance to play in a $100 re buy
poker tournament, Texas Hold ‘em style. The money would go to a local
charity – the Children’s Home Imeldahof. All of the money raised from the
re-buys would go to the charity, and the poker site matched them dollar for
dollar and donated them as well.
The Children’s Home is a shelter for 52 children who are unable to stay in
their homes for various reasons – usually related to some sort of abuse,
neglect, or alcohol or drug problems with their parents. It gives them
shelter and counseling so that they can find a way out of their troubles.
They have already announced that they will be offering another charity poker
event in Canada. They are planning another poker event that would benefit
the Starlight Children’s Foundation, and it will take place in downtown
Montreal at the Historical Windsor Station. This will be one of the
country’s largest charitable poker events ever and they are hoping to raise
hundreds of thousands of dollars at the event.
