Congrats Negreanu
November

Canada has one more reason to celebrate, and it all has to do with their
hometown boy – Daniel Negreanu. The country doesn’t hold it against him that
he moved to Las Vegas to pursue poker full time, especially when he
represented them so well in the BC Poker Championships last week.
Negreanu came back to Canada to participate in the BC Poker Championships
last week, and not only did he do well, but he won the whole kit ‘n caboodle
in the process. The poker championship ran last week at the River Rock
Casino in Richmond, BC – which is located just outside of Vancouver.
The event drew 689 poker players to it, which was just shy of the 750 mark
that the event’s organizers were hoping for. The poker tournament hosted
five events overall, and three of them sold out. However, even with less
people playing than they had hoped for, they still were able to pay Negreanu
a nice chunk of change when he won.
Negreanu is well known as one of the best poker players in the world, and he
said that it may have been a smaller tournament, but it was the best he had
ever played. He said winning this poker championship held more meaning to
him than many of the others because of the fact that it is hosted in his
back yard.
The poker event brought many professionals to our upstairs neighbor, names
like Mark Napier, Tiffany Michelle, and Liz Lieu. They said that this poker
tournament actually brought in more celebrities than it normally does.
