BC Poker Championship Starting

For you poker lovers out there, it is that time of year again when a very special poker tournament to the north is ready to gear up. The Fourth Annual British Columbia Poker Championship is beginning this upcoming Thursday and will have a winner by Sunday, the 23rd. The event will be televised as usual so that their players that can’t be there can watch.

The poker event will be at the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond, British Columbia. Poker fans will be able to see some of the biggest names in poker there – Daniel Negreanu, Gavin Smith, and Brad “Yukon” Booth are all expected to be there as part of the game. The main event is a $2,500 no limit Hold’em tournament, which is merely the end of a four event run.

There are two major poker tournaments that are run each year in Canada and this is one of them. The other is the World Poker Tour North American Poker Championship which was just hosted this past fall in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The River Rock casino site is not only the site of this poker event, but it is also the largest casino in Western Canada. Their poker room holds 25 tables – which makes it the largest poker room in Canada.

They offer all kinds of variations of poker, and the four day event schedule promises to be a good one. All poker players will start with 15,000 in chips and their levels will be 60 minutes long.
