Million Dollar Challenge is On
October 29, 2009
The Poker Stars Million Dollar Challenge has started and poker players
could not be happier about it. This past Sunday the second episode of the
poker tournament aired, and was well received by viewers. The poker show is
coming in as the highest rated poker program so far this year which makes
their advertisers happy indeed. One of the reasons that the poker show is so
popular is because of the players that they choose to be on it – they are
people that they can identify with.
This past Sunday it was their latest contestant that really brought in the
poker players to watch Sergeant First Class Deny Luna was there to see how
he might fare against the poker professionals. Luna is an operations NCO for
the Army’s 2120th division, located in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
First he was up against Jayde Necole, who in addition to being an pretty
good poker player is also known as the reigning Playboy Playmate of the
Year. She is also known for being a regular on the show The Hills. Necole
tried to sway Luna with her various antics, but Luna annihilated her and
took home a trip to the Bahamas.
Next he faced 2003 World Series of Poker Main Event winner, Chris
Moneymaker. Moneymaker has long been known as not only an excellent poker
player, but a tricky one as well. However, Luna was not fooled by him and
also took him out. At this point Luna had to decide whether to keep going
for a chance at $100,000 or to stop and collect his $25,000. He chose to
stop and took the money so that he could take care of some of his family’s
bills
