It would seem that if looking and half naked poker professionals is your
cup of tea, then the new issue of ESPN the Magazine is going to be one that
you are going to want to pick up. The magazine will be featuring semi nude
photos of several poker professionals within its pages.
Jennifer Harman, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, and Scottie Nguyen all
agreed to take off their clothes for the magazine’s brand new body issue. If
you are like many poker professionals, you are probably wondering what this
has to do with poker. It seems that the magazine considers poker to be a
sport. The magazine says that the photos are amazing and the journalism is
“innovative” and that they are very happy with how it turned out.
In addition to the poker players there were also athletes that took the bait
and are appearing in the photos as well. The magazine decided to focus on
sports from bull riding to NASCAR and everything in between as well as
poker. Harman admitted that she was nervous about the photos and was
concerned how it would affect her poker reputation.
However she decided that it would be “done with a lot of class” and so she
decided to do it. In addition to the poker professionals agreeing to do it,
it is also the only co-ed shot that was done. Harman was the only female,
and agreed to go topless in front of her poker competitors. She said that
she felt that her inclusion was not because she was female but because poker
has truly become a gender neutral support.
