Video Poker Robber is a
Woman
October
29, 2008
Most of the time when you turn on
the news and hear about a robbery it is a man that has committed it. This may
not be a true sampling of the crime industry – but it does seem that according
to your local news that almost all robberies are done by men.
So when you turn on that same news and see that a video poker store was robbed –
you immediately think that it was some guy or some punk kid and don’t give it
another thought. However, what if you then find out that it was a woman? And
that she was armed and dangerous? Not your usual robbery perhaps?
But that is exactly what happened at Kelly’s Hot Spot in South Charleston
Saturday night. A woman came in with a weapon and demanded that the clerk give
her all of the money. The clerk did so, the woman left, and now police can’t
find her.
There were even witnesses in the video poker parlor who said that she had a gun
and no one stopped her. Allegedly she had been playing the video poker games all
night, and then went into the restroom. When she came out she walked past the
video poker machines and walked up to the clerk with a gun and demanded they
hand over the money.
The video poker player got away with $1,000 from the cashier and police are
still looking for her. The South Charleston Police are shopping around video
footage of her in an attempt to gain an ID.
