Chris Elliot is not a name that you would know, up until last week anyway. He is a former pizza delivery guy who plays poker on the internet for fun. However, taking that poker playing live has put Elliot’s name in the books for eternity.

Elliot was playing the Betfair World Series of Poker Europe when he won £81,000, putting him in the ranks of the world’s best poker players. Those of you not familiar with the poker tournament will be excited to learn that it is Europe’s biggest tournament, and it is hosted at the Empire Casino in Leicester Square, London.

Elliot is only 33 years old and has been living in Alloa. He spent his time playing online poker at various online poker sites, gaining more skills with every hand that he won. He has only been playing for two years, and initially he started just for something to supplement his income.

Soon he found that the poker playing was making much more money than delivering pizzas. He put up £250 to enter a tournament that gave you the chance to win a £10,000 seat at the poker tournament in Europe. From more than 1,200 entrants, he was one of 21 to move on.

He is now planning on going professional with his poker playing. Elliot says that he is going to play poker at all the top casinos with those other amazing top players.
