Texas Tea Y’All?
September 28, 2009
Depending on where you're from if you say Texas Tea people are going to
assume that you're speaking of some sort of a drink. Some people in the
South call Texas Tea the same thing that others called sweet tea. However
when one is talking about poker, Texas Tea and sweet tea are two completely
different things.
The iPhone has an application called Texas Tea that has nothing to do with
the drink. There are plenty of matching puzzle games and things of that
nature in the app store, but this one takes matching to a whole new level.
Snakehead Software has come up with a new matching game that brings in the
elements of poker as well, making it a much more exciting offering.
In this new poker game instead of matching simply a series of similar
shapes, you have to find matching sets of dice. Now you can play it like a
regular matching game and try to find dice in a straight line up or down,
but to get the highest score you have to find the poker hands. Within the
dice are various poker hands, and by using them to the best of your ability
you increase your score. One pair, just as in poker, is the most basic
match. This of course is followed by two pair, three of a kind, and so on
through full house, straight, four of a kind, or a straight flush.
There are various levels in the game, and as you get further up at levels
there will be areas that are blocked out which will make your matching even
harder. Completing the level involves turning the board from green to black
within a specific time limit. You have to match dice in each square, and
every time you do that the game board's square turns black.
