Poker Robbery
September 12, 2009
It is constantly a source of amazement that people think that they can
rip someone off and get away with it. Yet you constantly hear of people in
the news breaking into a place, or mugging someone, with the absolute belief
that they are going to get away with it. Nowhere can this be seen better
than in the recent robbery of a Solon poker game.
In fact, the seven men have been arrested in connection with the poker
robbery. The men performed an armed robbery of a private high stakes poker
game, and took $75,000 in cash and property. The seven man crew robbed a
dozen card players who had organized a poker game on April 17 at the Allied
Lighting warehouse.
Four of the suspects will be arraigned on September 15 at Cuyahoga County
Common Pleas court on charges that include both kidnapping and aggravated
robbery for their part in the poker scheme. Randall Barnes, 25, Solomon
Berhane, 31, Andres Arzola, 18, and William Masters, 37, were part of the
group according to the prosecutor's office.
Jose Arzola-Torres, 20,Dominic Berlingeri, 24,and Wayne Bunkin, 31, were the
other members of the crew that ripped off the poker game, and they were
already arraigned. All of them are currently in the county jail. According
to the prosecutor's office, the men wore masks when they approached a card
player outside of the warehouse. They then used to guns to force their way
into the poker game. They took more than $50,000 in cash and $25,000 in
jewelry and other property and then ran from the scene. According to the
prosecutor's office, they were aware that the poker game was going on, and
had been planning the robbery.
