New Poker Format

What if you could apply the rules of a marathon to a poker game? If you
could take all of the elements of a marathon and turn it into a high impact
kind of competition? There are some people who would say that you are
bastardizing the idea of the game of poker, while others would be up for the
challenge.
Matt Savage is a well-known poker tournament director who had an idea for
changing the way poker was played. He wanted to create an Iron Man poker
tournament that would not have a single break. Had this idea been put forth
by almost any other person in the world, people may have laughed at him and
told them that it was impossible. But Savage is in a unique position where
his services are in high demand around the world because of his ability to
run a stress-free and successful poker tournament.
Savidge decided to create an Iron Man poker tournament for the Commerce
Casino. Also known as event number 15, the $1600 poker tournament had no
breaks and would not stop until winner was declared. He made deal making in
the poker event illegal, and final players had to play down to the final
death blow. The last player out took home 50% of the prize pool.
There are some poker players out there who really hate the idea of having a
break in the middle of a poker tournament. They say that's poker tournaments
traditionally have too many breaks, and thought that lengthy dinner breaks
were a waste of time. They were used to playing the online poker tournaments
where is play after play, and want to see the live poker tournaments follow
suit.
