New Look for Poker Room
September 12, 2009
Poker players love it when the place that they go to changes their look.
It makes them feel like they've got a new place to go. Sometimes this is not
necessarily a good thing as the poker place changes the way they look but
not for the better. But this is pretty rare. The River Rock Casino in
Geyserville has unveiled their new poker room and the players could not be
happier.
Those that have been lucky enough to get a sneak peek say that it is
absolutely gorgeous. They will have their grand opening on Friday with a
three day tournament that will have a prize pool in excess of $10,000. The
casino says that they will have the Ultimate Fighting Championship All-Stars
on hand to sign autographs and that they will also be playing in the poker
tournament.
The new poker room is where the old Lounge 128 nightclub used to be. The
casino owner says that they were originally planning on the patio simply
being a place for players to relax, but he says the popularity of the poker
room has made him see that he may want to offer open air poker tournaments
as well. He says that that would make them unique in that most places don't
offer poker tournaments outside of the casino.
The poker room will have the same number of tables that it had before, as
well as televisions, but is also going to have a free, self serve drinks
station with soda and coffee, and a bar that will give free appetizers at
certain times such as tournaments. They have eliminated the poker room’s
progressive bad beat, and instead they have added progressive royal flush
jackpots. All in all it is turning out to be an excellent addition for the
poker community.
