Sky Poker Tour

Early reports of the Sky Poker debut leg of their live UK tour say that it is everything that poker should be. Supposedly if you are a new player, you will not find a better place to give it a go than this tournament.

Those that joined them on that first leg said that you could not have found a “friendlier” or more “nurturing” place to play poker if you tried. They say that new poker players especially will find it hard to beat the atmosphere at the tournament.

The Sky Poker UK Poker Tour at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham is the full name of the experience, and there were staff on hand from both companies to give advice to the new poker stars in attendance. It seems that more than half of those in attendance were playing their first live poker game. There were instructions on how to play and what proper etiquette was for live play, and everyone there was genuinely working to make it a positive experience for the players.

Besides the newbies in attendance, there were also some big names on the poker circuit. People like Nick Hicks and Maria Demetriou were there to play, as were presenters like Michelle Orpe and Norman Pace. The overall feeling of the poker tour was that everyone was expected to learn a lot and have a good time – and that is exactly what seems to have happened.
