Poker Players Prefer Obama
September 13, 2008
According to DuplicatePoker.com, the majority of poker players are planning
on voting for Barack Obama instead of John McCain. In fact, in a recent
survey, poker players preferred Obama over McCain by 2 to 1.
Poker players surveyed said that they felt that Obama had the stronger
ticket over McCain, with the number of Obama supporters increasing to a
higher margin. Many of them said that having Alaska Governor Sarah Palin on
the ticket weakened McCain’s stance with them.
As both Senators are known to play poker, this was a tough choice for some
as they appreciate a candidate that has their same interests. They also said
that being a poker player made them both strong candidates as poker players
need to know how to read their opponents and make a decision quickly. They
thought that this would give them an edge as president.
Some felt that race would affect the election – with more thinking that it
wouldn’t than would. They felt that women and blacks would be the deciding
factor in the race. They felt that poker would play a part, but not nearly
as much as Roe vs. Wade and the war in Iraq.
