Nevada Poker Championships Host
September 11, 2008
The schedule for the first annual State of Nevada Poker Championships was
announced the other day – as was their host. The new poker championships
will be held at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada.
This first annual event is going to have 32 tournaments and is running from
September 25th through October 5th. There will be three events each day
during the week – and they will run at the same times every day.
The 11 State Championships will run at 11 am every day, and the buy in will
be $400. The only exception to the rule is the $1,000 no limit Hold’em
tournament and the $200 Ladies championship. The winners of each of the
State Championships will get first place money as well as Card Player
Cruises for two to Mexico. All of the other events will run 3 and 6 each day
and will have buy ins ranging from $120-340.
The host of the poker event, the Grand Sierra, will have special rates for
the poker tournament. There will be rooms as low as $30 a night for those
who wish to stay on property. You can contact the hotel for more information
about rates at 775-789-2000.
