Bodog Poker Still Hanging in There

September 26, 2008

When you think of poker and online poker sites, there is usually one name that comes to mind almost immediately – Bodog. It’s true. Once considered to be the preeminent poker domain, the company is no longer sporting that title.

Bodog Poker has been struggling for some time now, coming in around 10th place prior to the summer. However, times being what they are, and new offerings always around the bend – and they are now trying to hold onto the 14th spot.

The poker site has been struggling, but so far this September it has gotten even worse. According to many of the online poker review sites, Entraction Network is probably going to take that spot sometime before October.

Many of the same poker companies that used to vy for the top spots that Bodog held have now passed the online giant. As part of the Microgaming Network, Doyle’s Room has passed Bodog as well. They are trying to sign Michael Phelps to the site, and if that happens they are probably going to go into the top 10 no problem.

Doyle Brunson has been training Phelps on his poker, and if the online poker site ends up signing him, their popularity will skyrocket. Bodog has a few interesting players coming up at the 2nd Annual World Series of Poker Europe. They have a man who starred in granny porn and a Survivor loser among the group.
