Championship About to Start
August 29, 2009
Poker players around the world are excited as they know that it is
getting closer to the time for the World Championship of Poker to start. The
annual event offers millions of dollars in cash and prizes to its poker
players – and they are quickly being inundated by players hoping to get
their piece of the winning pay outs.
The poker event is going to offer all of the regular poker games like HORSE,
razz, Texas and Omaha Hold’em, and stud. The poker tournament will begin
September 3rd and with more than 40 poker events scheduled the players are
bound to have a great time competing. There will be buy ins from as little
as $109 to as much as $10,000 which makes the poker event more accessible to
all walks of life.
There are satellites running as well and they have buy ins for as low as $2.
There will be at least two events running each day, and the final event will
be a $10 million guaranteed prize pool. Even the first poker event has a
guaranteed prize pool of more than a million dollars – this is no small
poker tournament that people are participating in.
The WCOOP has paid out more than $103 million over the past and players have
come to expect that not only do they have great payouts but that they also
have great games. Whereas some poker tournaments limit the number of games
that they offer – the WCOOP never does. They plan on this year being bigger
than they have ever had before, and it is considered to be one of the
biggest poker tournaments in the world.
