Poker Chips?
August 5, 2008
In a receding economy, you would think that many people are looking to
tighten their belts and not pay a lot of money into something that seems
like a frivolous expenditure. However, what if you are selling something
like poker chips?
Many would think that poker chips, even personalized poker chips, would go
by the wayside in a tougher economy, but Mark Pienta is not most people.
Pienta started his poker chip business in February of this year, and is
already doing well for himself.
Pienta makes custom foil stamped poker chips for a variety of purposes. He
makes them for home or tournament play, game rooms and fund raisers. He used
his savings to start the business, which is his first.
Pienta was a die maker in the automotive industry, and just decided one day
that he could make a living making poker chips, personalized, for other
people. Those that have had the privilege of seeing his work are already
impressed by what they see.
He says that he got some great advice from a former employer to treat every
customer like it was his one and only customer – and that is what he strives
to do.
He is currently working on a web site to market his poker chips, and he says
that when it is completed he will be taking orders online and accepting
PayPal. Until then you can reach him at dcpchips@comcast.net, or phone,
586-944-5519.
