The people at the Poker Players
Alliance are celebrating their recent win over the Republican Party. The PPA
had complained loudly about the language in their platform that said that
online gambling should be restricted from the United States, and they were
heard.
For the first time in more than ten years, the Republican Party Platform
doesn’t have any language stating so, and it is because of the PPA. They
complained about the language and the party removed it from the platform.
There was a spot on their site that allowed members to talk about the party
or to comment on issues. The party found that the majority of their comments
had come from online poker players who wanted to be heard.
Most of them said that they thought the Republican party was out of touch
with what the rest of the party wanted. They said that they thought that
online poker should be legal, and they wanted the party to know that. Many
threatened not to vote Republican, stating that if they were going to so
blatantly go against their wishes and push to have poker illegal online that
they were going to go to the other party.
