Irish Poker Classic Has a
Winner!
August
31, 2008
The 6th Annual Irish Poker
Classic ended last week with Rob Taylor at its helm. Taylor is one of the
most well known players on the Irish tournament circuit, and his win made
many of those in Ireland very happy.
The poker tournament had a record turnout this time, it was held in Cork and
had 169 players enter their main event. The event had a €1,500+€100 buy in
with a €150,000 guarantee.
The tournament brought in such big names as Michael Greco, Annette Obrestad,
and Ian Woodley in addition to Mary Smyth and Roy Brindley. However, Taylor
would take home the €46,000 and the title.
Taylor was runner up last year in the poker tournament, and is sponsored by
Green Joker Poker. However, he is always one of the top winners in every
poker tournament that he enters, so it is no wonder that he would take the
title of top winner at last.
Oliver la Rochelle came in second and took home €47,500, and Ryan O’Donoghue
took the second spot and €38,250 to round out the top three spots.
