Full Tilt Going for It
July 28, 2009
The Guinness Book of World Records used to be a big thing years ago.
People would see what kind of crazy things they could get themselves into
the book for, and if there was already an entry for it then they would just
try their best to beat it. It was a big deal, but it has drifted off of the
radar for many people since that time. There are those that still follow the
record book to see what people are doing and to see how they might get into
it, but it seems that there just isn’t the pull for it that there was
before.
However, Full Tilt Poker is one of those that take their Guinness Book very
seriously. They have already won one record, and are now going for their
second one. This past January they broke the record for the most entries in
an online poker tournament, and now they are hoping to beat another record
this weekend.
The poker site is celebrating their fifth anniversary and has really pulled
out all of the stops to get themselves out there and reward their players.
But all of the promotions and bonuses have led them to this weekend and the
Record Breaker Tournament. The current record is held by Poker Stars, who
got 35,000 poker players to register for a tournament this past winter.
Their tournament was a $11 buy in and Full Tilt Poker says that they can
beat that.
They are offering a $5 buy in, a prize pool guaranteed with at least
$250,000 and another $250,000 in prize money. There will be some big names
there as well as Phil Ivey and Chris Ferguson have both said that they will
be participating in this weekends poker tournament.
