Michael Davis – Triumphant at Last
July 6, 2009
Michael Davis is not a name that you know. It is not the name of a famous
person because Michael Davis is not that guy – and has never done anything
supposedly worthy of getting his name splashed all over the papers. However,
Michael Davis is a poker player – and has just made history for himself and
anyone else who has been rooting for hm all of these years.
Davis is a poker player who plays because he loves the game. He plays
because his life is about enjoying the game of poker. He plays even though
he does not win – or at least he used to not win. Davis has been playing at
the World Series of Poker for the last fifteen years and has never won a
bracelet. But that all finally changed for the poker player as he took home
his first WSOP bracelet.
Davis won the Senior’s No Limit Hold’em World Championship in poker and took
home $437,358 for his efforts. He had cashed in twenty events over the
previous fifteen years but was never able to take that top prize. This year
changed all of that for the dedicated poker player.
Several tournaments moving all around him, with poker players coming and
going, but Davis never lost focus or his cool and ended up the big winner
when all was said and done. This is a big day for Davis, one that he will
undoubtedly remember for the rest of his lifetime. And for all of those
people who said that if he hadn’t won by now he wasn’t going to? The proof
is in the poker!
