Charity Poker Tournaments
July 14, 2009
Everyone likes a good poker tournament, especially when it is for a good
cause. The Eastern Poker Tour will be hosting a charity poker tournament in
Massachusetts this month, and many players are eager to get to the tables.
The poker tournament is for a great cause – The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The charity works hard to raise money for those people who are battling
blood cancers, and helps to fund research on the diseases related to the
cancer. It is a worthy cause, and professional poker players from around the
world are lined up to play for them.
The event will be held at the Sons of Italy Lodge in Braintree,
Massachusetts, on Saturday, July 11th. The poker game will be a $100 No
Limit Hold’em Main Event, and it will start promptly at 6 pm. There will
also be $25 single table satellite games that will be running that
afternoon. If the tournament generated 100 entries, $6,000 will go to the
final table.
Everyone starts with 10,000 chips with the ability to purchase another 2,000
ships for $10 at the beginning of the poker tournament. There will be no
further re-buys or add ons later on in the poker tournament, all sales will
take place at the beginning only. In addition to that, there will also be
single table cash poker tournaments running while the main event is running.
This will ensure that everyone gets a chance to play, especially since the
poker tables will have buy ins from $45 to $125. This enables it to be more
accessible to those people to whom $100 is just a little too steep.
