iPhone Sees Poker

This cannot come as a shock to many – but one of the most popular games on the new iPhone is poker. Sure enough, if you are playing a game on your phone, you are probably playing Texas Hold’em. In fact it is the second most downloaded application so far.

Apple released the new iPhone 3G a few days ago in the United States and with that release they offered iPhone 2.0 software and a new version of iTunes. These will both support the functionality that the new software offers.

But within the software are a bunch of applications that people can download, and it would seem that Texas Hold’em is the game to get. People like playing poker, and they like playing it on their iPhones. The only game that is more popular is Super Monkey Ball, a game that when asked, many had never even heard of.

However, you can be sure that those downloading the poker game are doing it because they love the game of poker. Those Monkey Ball people we can’t really speak for – it may just be some kind of fluke.

The poker game can be played from a traditional online poker view, top down, or you can rotate your phone so that you can have a heads up view. The poker game plays pretty much as normal with betting and bluffing, but there are tells as well – and you can either play the game or up to eight people through Wi-Fi.
