Everest Poker Celebrating
July 26, 2008
Everest Poker is pleased to
announce that they are celebrating their first year of sponsoring the World
Series of Poker. Their parent company, GigaMedia Limited, announced that
they have successfully completed the first portion of the main event and
would start showing it this week on ESPN.
With this being the first year that Everest Poker has sponsored the event,
this is an especially exciting time for the company. The WSOP is the largest
and richest it has ever been – with more than 58,000 players worldwide being
involved. They have seen players from more than 100 different countries, up
from last year’s numbers overall.
Once the poker games starting airing, more than 300 million households will
be able to tune in and see all of the action for themselves. With Everest
Poker being one of the most popular poker sites around, and having been
names Poker Operation of the Year last year, it is no wonder that they would
take on the mantle of sponsoring the most popular poker game around.
Everest Poker and Harrah’s Entertainment signed a deal this past March
giving Everest a multiyear agreement to sponsor the WSOP. This will also
give them satellite tournament rights as well as strategic brand placement.
Not only that, but their logo will appear on every table in the competition
and the inner rung of the WSOP feature table at the finals – something never
done before.
