New Poker Stop
June
14, 2009
World Poker Tour is pleased to announce that they have added another stop to
their event tour. They will be moving further into the Midwest with a stop
in Indiana. They say that the poker tour will stop at the former Argosy
Casino Hotel in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
The location is not far from Cincinnati, Ohio, and will be at the new
Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg which opens June 26th. The poker event will
take place in January, and they will run their $10,000 poker championship in
the casino’s brand new poker room. They will be filming the event as well so
that everyone can see it.
The poker tour says that they are thrilled to be able to add the stop on the
schedule as it makes it more accessible to those poker players that live in
the Midwest. They say that not only is it their first stop in this
territory; it will also be their first poker event on a “river boat style
property.” They say that the excitement of the poker event is unrivaled and
should make for a really good time for all of those that play – as well as
those who watch.
The poker room at the hotel will have 41 tables offering both cash games and
tournaments, and will have the World Poker Tour branding. It will be the
largest poker room in the Midwest and in addition to this event they will
also host three other tournaments throughout the year. They will be hosting
the Tri-State Poker Championship in May, the Indiana State Poker
Championship in August, and finally the Hollywood Fall Classic in November.
