Parker Wins at Poker
June
13, 2009
The World Series of Poker is
easily one of the best known and most watched poker series out there today.
The beauty behind the poker games is that not only can anyone enter, but
anyone can win as well. This makes it accessible to all poker players, and
makes it more of a joy to watch – to see if someone from out of their ranks
might just make it to the bracelet.
The winners of the various events in the poker series are given bracelets if
they win. Some players leave without any, and some will pick up a couple
along the way. This year, Brock Parker may be the one that everyone is
looking at, as he has already won his second bracelet in less than four
days.
The second bracelet earned him $552,745 at the $2,500 Six Man No Limit
Hold’em event. Him and Joe Serock went head to head and when the dust
settled, it was Parker that took the poker bracelet. This was a big deal in
the poker world, for although Parker already had one bracelet, many had
their money on Serock winning the event.
The World Championship Omaha HL/8 or Better poker tournament was also one of
the events to watch. It had some of the biggest names in poker out there –
with Daniel Negreau and Annie Duke vying for the bracelet. The bettors were
split between who would win, only to see Daniel Alaei take the top prize.
Eric Seidel was doing well in the Pot-Limit Hold’em poker tournament,
otherwise known as Event 20. This is one of the more popular events, and
Seidel was a favorite going into it. However, he fell just short of taking
it, and now there are only five players remaining with John-Paul Kelly
taking the lead.
