God and Poker?

Sure enough! It would seem that Britain’s Jewish population is getting a nice boost from poker and pool, as well as hypnotists. These seem to be the key ingredients for the survival of the Jewish population.

There are many kids in the Jewish faith, but they were having real problems bringing the excitement and drive that comes with understanding and knowing your faith. So they decided to make the kids an offer – and started offering things that they would want to do in addition to devote themselves to God.

More teens are joining and getting into the idea that the Jewish faith can be entertaining as well as thought provoking. Not only that, but many of those spreading the word are teenagers themselves.

They want other teenagers to see what they do in their faith, and turn to living an Orthodox lifestyle. The new program is called Aish and it is an attempt to show young people though things like poker that will entertain them. They say that it is not all studying, and that they love being a part of it.

The teenagers spend time playing poker and listening to lectures or hypnotists in addition to learning about their faith. They say that they are not the only organization devoted to young Jews, that there are others that will teach them the ways of Judaism. However, they don’t seem to make it fun for the kids.
