Charity Poker Tournament
June 24, 2008
Phil Ivey will be hosting a charity poker tournament on July 1st and he
wants everyone to join in on the fun. The event is the Budding Ivey
Foundation charity poker tournament and he is asking people to participate
so that they can raise more money for charity.
The $1,000 donation, No-Limit Hold’em Tournament will be held at the Golden
Nugget in their new The Tank that they have on the premises. It will even
have a $500 re-donation offer as well for players.
There will be several events going on at the same time as the poker
tournament, and all of them are geared to raise more money for the charity.
The foundation was started by Phil Ivey and his mom in the memory of his
grandfather, Leonard “Bud” Ivey. He was a philanthropist and Phil wanted to
honor his efforts by raising money himself.
Those players in the poker tournament are encouraged to participate in any
one of several of their events. The poker tournament will be emceed by Matt
Savage and is being held with “The Grand” poker series at the Golden Nugget.
