Many online poker players
are students and young professionals. To prove that there
are online poker players out there that advance to major
poker events in big casino WSOP events, here is the latest.
Shannon Shorr is a young
Alabama college student (now poker pro) who just made
history by becoming the youngest poker player to reach a
final table in a WSOP, No Limit Circuit Event at Harrah's
Casino, in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.
As if this isn’t
spectacular enough, on the very next afternoon, he also made
it all the way to another final table. As online poker
players, we know how hard it is to play like this. By adding
the second final table the next day, he quickly became the
youngest poker player to ever make two successive final
poker event tables.
On the first day, he came
in 2nd and the next day he was 3rd.
This great poker player is not only setting an example to
all young poker players, online poker or casino poker
players, but he managed to make a lot of money in just two
short days. He won a total of $40,000 in the two poker
events. Shannon began playing online poker and built his
hobby into a very successful career. So, we mentioned he was
a young student – guess how old…21 years old. In fact, he
just turned 21 a couple of weeks ago. This is impressive.
Playing in his very first
live tournament in Melbourne Australia - The Aussie
Millions Championship, he came in 4th. He
managed to out play several well known and yes older pro
players there, too. At that event he raked in nearly
$250,000, At his young age, he has already played poker in
many fascinating locations worldwide. He has played in poker
events in Vienna Austria, Barcelona Spain and the Bahamas.
Since he just turned 21, he can play in WSOP events in the
USA, too. It seems to us tat he wasted no time with that.
As many of us online poker
players can imagine – he will be relocating to Vegas. While
living there, he will no doubt carve out his place among the
greats. At the end of June, he will be in Vegas taking his
seat at the World Series of Poker Main Event, which will air
on TV later in the year from the Rio Casino. We will be
looking to see how he does. We wonder where he liked playing
online poker…
