A huge
development in the world of online poker playing has made
its way into the light of day. Just recently at
Microgaming's Poker Network, a heads up online poker battle
ended up awarding one luck online poker player a massive
amount of money – in fact it was the biggest yet. At one
point in the online poker tourney the two finalists had
$800,000 on the table between them. They played a $465,461
hand during a grueling eight hour final event. His hand
beat the previous $357,256 record by more than $100,000.
This event was very impressive indeed.
The online
poker final event started with $80,000 on the poker table
and held strong with both players showing no weakness for a
long time. After more than 8 hours, more than 20 re-buys at
$40,000 each were made, the total amount of cash on the line
was just under $1 million bucks.
The CEO of
Microgaming was proud to say that the online poker event
really was a record breaking event not only for poker
regarding stakes and spectator participation, it also showed
the true dedication players and spectators have for this
amazing game. Microgaming is no doubt elated about the fact
that this went down on Poker Network. Now that this
milestone has passed, we are sure online poker players will
be seeing more of this type of high stakes action on the Net
soon.
One of the
most interesting things about this online poker game
(besides the huge amount of money at stake), is that it was
watched by six hundred people and the chat room on the
online poker site was apparently besieged by the amount of
online poker spectators. After all, this final event took
place for more than eight hours. This $200/400 No Limit
Heads Up table at the Microgaming Poker Network was
definitely something to witness. In fact, one of the players
earned over $700,000 while the other online poker player had
around $80,000.
