Poker World Series is Back

It doesn’t matter where the economy is – up or down – people are still going to play poker. They can’t help themselves. They love poker and they aren’t going to stop playing no matter what. Some of the them might only play for free and some might just pay for money – but poker playing gets in your blood and there is no way that you are going to stop for a little thing like the economy – especially when it is World Series of Poker week in Las Vegas.

The hotel rooms have already started filling up, and the plane flights have been scheduled. People enter the World Series of Poker for one reason and one reason only – they can. This is the fact of the matter in a nutshell. The World Series of Poker is poker playing at its finest, and one of the biggest parts of the game is that anyone can enter – which means anyone can win.

There are many games out there that you can’t enter, or if you manage to get into you don’t really stand a chance of winning. However, poker playing at the WSOP is not one of those cases. Poker players from all over the world sit down at a table with everyone from unknowns to some of the most successful poker players in the world. This is all the idea behind the WSOP – make it accessible.

And let us not forget that the biggest winner of them all is Vegas themselves. They rake in millions of dollars in revenue from the players and their spouses, and the spectators – who all spend their money on rooms, food, etc. – bringing in a lot of money for the city and for the state at a time when it is really needed.
