Thorson is a Poker Force to Be Reckoned With
April 7, 2009
William Thorson is showing the world that there is another poker star in the
making. Thorson has been showing his chops throughout the poker tournament,
and people are starting to sit up and take notice. He seems to be making a
large statement with the way he dominates the leaderboard that first day of
each tournament that he is in, now it is just a matter of time to see if he
can hold onto the lead in this poker match.
Norwegian PokerStars qualifier Thorson topped the board in a way that belies
his young age. Many experts say that he plays like man several times his age
and experience, and others say that he has a raw, natural talent that you
just cannot teach. Either way, it is evident that the young man knows
exactly what he is doing.
He came out strong at the last EPT stop in Copenhagen – and took the board
the first day. Now he is doing the same thing in Dortmund, and has taken the
lead in this poker match-up again. He has already built his 10,000 stack to
almost 90,000 before the poker game was even over for the day. He watched as
some of the biggest names in poker were eliminated – people like Ivan
Demidov, Roberto Romanello and Barny Boatman. Johannes Strassmann managed to
hold on as well, although many thought that he would be out several times
during the day.
There will be other big names in poker joining them over the next few days –
names like Marcel Luske and 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event winner
Peter Eastgate. It should prove to be an exciting tournament.
