Spring Championship of Online Poker

The time is nearing where poker players will get a chance to compete to see who the best of the best at PokerStars.com is. Their Spring Championship of Online Poker – also known as SCOOP – is geared up and ready to go. SCOOP is one of the best online poker championships around, and many players wait their turn eagerly to get to participate. The only thing better than this is perhaps the WCOOP – which is the World Championship of Online Poker, also hosted by Poker Stars.

Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier knows a thing or two about these poker tournaments. He is probably one of the best poker players at it, and has won numerous awards in WCOOP. He was the first player to ever achieve Supernova status on the online poker site and also the first to reach Supernova Elite. He has won almost $5 million in live poker tournaments, and has won the 2008 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA), the 2008 Bellagio Festa al Lago main event, and the 2009 PCA high-roller's event.

This is a man who also holds the record for the most ever cashes and the most tournaments played in the Poker Stars WCOOP. Easily considered one of the most accomplished poker players in the league, he says it has to do with how you play the game and how you let your surroundings affect you. He says that he likes the online poker tournaments because they run so long, but they are also so unpredictable. This makes for a much more exciting game.

Being sponsored by the poker site is no small feat either. He says that he just got lucky and that it came from playing poker a lot on their site. He says that he was also in the right place at the right time. He had shown what he was possible of in the poker arena, and he was French and popular in Korea. He says that was really the gist of it.
