Little Looking for Poker Win
April 24, 2009
Jonathan Little wants to win – and he wants to win big. This is nothing new
for Little or for any poker player, but Little is hoping to take back to
back POY titles, so this next poker game is extremely important to him.
Little, who goes by the name Fiery Justice, is playing at the World Poker
Tour Foxwoods Poker Classic, and is hoping to take the title of top dog.
There is a very good chance that Little will take the poker title, this year
in addition to the one he has from last year. He is currently tied for third
on the World Poker Tour’s Player of the Year leader board, having one
thousand points. John Phan is ahead of him with 1,400 POY points and Kathy
Liebert has 1,300. It would take very little for him to overcome both of
these players.
There are two poker events left to be played, and he could be set up to fly
past them depending on his performance in the events. The way the events
work out is that you get points for getting one of the top seven places in
the World Poker Tour events. If you are in seventh place you get 200 points,
and then they go up from there with first place taking 1,000 points. If he
wins the next two events he would be so far ahead that no one would be able
to catch him.
He says that he only has to finish in at least the third spot in order to
take the lead. This past November, Little took his 1,000 points from the
Foxwoods’ World Poker Finals, and could see a redo of those points with this
upcoming game. He says that winning Player of the year back to back would be
a huge success for him, and quite the honor.
