Poker for iPhone

There is nothing like a casual game of poker, yet sometimes it can be hard to find one. Sometimes it can be downright difficult to find some friends that can sit down with you and play a friendly game of poker – so what is a poker player to do? How about play poker on your phone?

The iPhone has come up with another application that poker players are going to love. Only, it seems a little weird upon first examination. It is called Tic-A-Tac Poker. Now the name might be strange, but it is a poker game with a social flair that players just might not be able to resist. Apple’s iPod and iTouch holders will be able to play the poker game, and at a $2 download fee it is pretty reasonably priced.

You simply log in and create a user profile and then you have the choice as to whether or not you want your location tracked. You get a choice of three games – the aforementioned one, Draw Poker, or Poker Challenge. The first is where you use the poker cards as playing pieces and you can discard the cards you don’t need. Draw is the conventional three or five card poker game and the computer has the player choose the cards used from the winning hand to play Tic-Tac-Toe at the end. Finally Poker Challenge has the player use the cards within the Tic-Tac-Toe grid to create card combinations which get progressively harder as you move through.

It is a great game even if it does not look the best. There aren’t beautiful graphics or sounds, but it does the trick of letting the player feel like they are really at a poker table. You also cannot win or lose money, but you can upload your scores to show everyone how great you did.
