The online poker site Ultimate
Bet is more than pleased to be able to announce that they have paid out more
than $2.5 million to their online poker players over the past ten days. The
poker site has been running a poker tournament which turned out to be more
popular than even they could have predicted. They ran a ten day Ultimate Bet
Online Championship for poker players and they had 1,115 players
participate.
The poker championship was a $1,000 + $50 buy in No Limit Texas Hold’em
poker game. It had an initial prize pool of $1 million guaranteed. However,
with the massive interest that they had in the poker series they ended up
with a prize pool of $1,115,000 which made it their largest and most popular
event ever for the poker site. The company said that they were thrilled with
the turnout and that in their ten years of doing this they have never had
one turn out this well.
They were also thrilled that over the course of the championship’s twenty
two events, they were able to pay out so much money. According to Phil
Hellmuth who hosted the Sunday evening event – this poker event “was the
epitome of epic for poker fans from all over the globe.” The players in the
poker games said that they will be talking about this championship for
months and years to come.
The poker site also ran the Mini UBOC which ran at the same time but had
smaller stakes and smaller payouts. Each of the events except for the final
$2 million blowout was mirrored. This way they were able to buy in for about
10% of the main UBOC events.
