Planet Hollywood Poker
March 11, 2009
For those of you that remember the old Aladdin poker room, the upgrade to
the new Planet Hollywood poker room was a really nice change. It was
definitely classed up, and became a favorite poker location for many people
– especially locals. They offered low limit poker, and quickly became the
best place on the Strip to play it. But then someone got the bright idea to
change it.
In October of last year, they got the idea that they needed to move the
poker room out into the main area. They added baccarat, blackjack, and it is
now located next to the slot machines. You still have the same beautiful
tables, but the ambiance that had been created by the old poker room was
gone.
It is still a wonderful place to visit, and probably still one of the best
places out there for playing poker, but it just isn’t as nice as it used to
be. For instance, there is no smoking at the poker table, but that used to
mean more when it was in its own separate room. Now that it is lumped in
with the rest of the floor, there is smoking all around it and you are
surrounded.
There are now nine tables of poker which are all of various blinds and
types. The games run 24/7 so you always have an option of playing something
you like. The tables are gorgeous, and the equipment – cards, chips, etc. a
still feel brand new. The staff is just as nice as always, and the floor
people that they have are some of the best in the business. They manage to
handle everything without a hassle and always with a smile.
The move was not necessarily a good one, it was better where it was before –
but everything else is just as good as ever.
