Heads Up Poker

When you talk big names in poker, it is great to see them all in one place. There are names like Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Scotty Nguyen, and Chris Ferguson. These are names that when you think about poker, you think about them. These are professionals – these are the people who are taking the risks and playing, and winning the World Series of Poker bracelets.

So when NBC announced that these were the names, among others, that would be playing in their National Heads Up Poker Championship, the poker community took note. These are not people who you normally see taking on a poker game that is not worth their while, so it tells you that this is going to be one heck of a game.

The poker game will be a bracket style tournament. The game will start with 64 players, and then will whittle down from there. They will face each other heads up (hence the name of the tournament) and it will be a battle to the bitter end. The players in this poker tournament are some of the best in the world, so to see them play each other will be quite an exciting game.

There will be some non professionals attending the poker tournament as well – as two of their players will come from the host casino – Caesars Palace, and four will come from online qualifiers. There will be some celebrities in the mix, and it will be interesting to see how they play together. Ferguson won last year’s event, and many think that he will take it again this year because he has the strongest poker record out of all of them.
