Student wins
PartyPoker.com million dollar prize
As if we need anymore
evidence that online poker is
quickly becoming the most popular
form of entertainment for college
students all over the World, one
22-year-old has won a million bucks
playing poker online. In the 5th
year of this tournament, a student
from Minneapolis has become the
youngest winner yet to claim the
top-prize at PartyPoker.com’s
Million cruise tourney.
The final event was
hosted on the cruise ship Westerdam,
and this year it looked like Spring
Break instead of a serious poker
event. But it was just that
exuberance that created a great game
of action and excitement.
The biggest Limit
Hold'em tourney in the World, this
event started last Monday (March 13th)
with a field of 528 poker players
and a $5,280,000 prize pool.
The 22-year-old
winner only said that he was
shellshocked at his victory,
even though he seemed confident at
the table.
The University of
Minnesota student of journalism will
be graduating Fall of this year. He
began playing poker at home some 4
years ago, Three years ago, he began
playing online poker at
PrtyPoker.com and the rest is
history.
The college student
winner never even thought he would
make it past the second day of poker
playing, but he was wrong. On day 1,
he only had $5,500 in chips.
One professional
poker player that has been involved
with every poker noted that the
event has changed so much in the
past five years. He says that many
younger student type players are
hitting the scene every year.
