Carmen Electra opens new poker room at Foxwoods
Many male (and a few female)
poker players wish they were on hand for yesterday’s grand opening of the
Foxwoods Resort and Casino's new WPT branded poker room built in the huge
casino. Why? Not just to play, but to watch the beautiful Carmen Electra walk
the red carpet and then deal the first hand of poker in the new poker room.
Online poker players love the
convenience of p[laying at home, but watching Carmen Electra deal poker would be
worth the effort to visit the well-known casino. The actress (married to rocker
Dave Navarro) was the main attraction of a celebrity-studded casino event that
opened the new poker room and further formed a great bond between the giant
casino and the WPT.
As with many casino poker
events in the past, Mike Sexton arrived first and saluted the casino’s new poker
room.
Opening the very first official
WPT poker room is just what the casino deserves because Foxwoods has supported
the WPT from the get-go. It is only fitting that the massive casino would be
selected as the premiere spot for the inaugural WPT poker room.
Foxwoods hosted a full list of
celebrities and media to kick-start the poker room’s success. The new poker room
has 114 new tables, top-notch gaming technology, and the World Poker Tour's
official seal of approval.
The grand opening was such a
success that the poker room was jam-packed with players and celebrities alike.
In fact. Many of the players were unaware of a celeb tourney taking place.
After Electra sat for many
necessary media interviews, she walked the red carpet like the pro she is giving
everyone a chance to see her. Then, she sat with Sexton at the tourney table ad
dealt a hand of poker. Even though she is a complete beginner, she dealt the
hand just fine
Once she dealt the first poker
hand, many magazine media members and others started playing a simple 10-hand
poker game for $25,000. All winnings went to the winner’s favorite charity.
After the celeb/media event,
hundreds of other poker players charged ahead with their chance to qualify for
the April 6th $10,000 No-Limit Texas Hold'em Championship. As you can imagine,
the joint was packed well into the wee-hours of the morning.
Sexton feels that this is just
the beginning of great events to come at Foxwoods’ new poker room.
Worth noting, when Carmen
Electra was working the red carpet, someone called to her to see if she would be
interested in being his lady luck at a blackjack table – she just smiled
and moved on. Beware spectators; this poker host is a married woman. Don’t even
get us started about the $3,000 martini she had at the after party.
