Poker for Twitter
February 3, 2010
Twitter is quickly becoming the way that people talk to each other for
social interaction on a blow by blow basis – but not everyone is very good
at it. There are some people who “tweet” who are very entertaining, and
others well, who just aren’t. Tweeting can be very entertaining, or it can
be a bit of a bore. When it comes to poker players though, it can actually
be really entertaining.
Poker celebs can be very funny, or boring, but it seems that there are quite
a few of them that are the former. There are a few accounts that if you
follow poker, you might want to be following them.
@Erik_Seidel is one of the best ones out there. You can follow it in hopes
that it makes you a better poker player but you will be disappointed.
Instead, you will want to follow it simply because it is endlessly
entertaining, much funnier than one would think for a poker player for some
reason. @allenkessler is not necessarily as funny as Seidel, but he is
informative. What is entertaining about his tweets is the people who talk
back to him – the arguments can be endlessly entertaining.
The big names like Joe Sebok and Doyle Brunson are givens because people
follow them for their insights into poker itself, which can be very
entertaining and helpful at the same time. There are many out there that are
really just for that purpose where they are giving out information that you
can really use. We happen to favor the ones that are more entertaining over
the more technical – but that doesn’t mean that you can’t follow them all!
