Poker Players Making Clothes? Not Quite!
February 3, 2010
Poker players are known for many things, but not necessarily making their
own clothes. You might find this ironic – as we did here – but sometimes the
two intermix and you end up with something that you never saw coming.
Apparently the clothing industry did not see it as such a big stretch and
have entered into the poker arena to get their next stars.
The clothing company KSINO has announced that hey have signed two of poker’s
most exciting new players. They said that they were looking for people who
personified the idea of their clothing brand – people who “live and love a
fast paced lifestyle.” This is where they got the idea of signing poker
professionals Lacey Jones and Leo Margets. The clothing company felt that
these two poker professionals were the epitome of that life style and that
they would be perfect for the brand.
What is already interesting about this is that Jones is not just a poker
player – she is also a model. Modeling and wearing the clothing line is
surely second nature to her. She is also only one of three women to get on
the cover of Bluff magazine in the history of the magazine. She says
that what she loves about the clothes is that they are fun and you look
great wearing them.
Margets fame comes from an entirely different place. She was the last woman
remaining at the 2009 World Series of Poker and took home her first cash as
a poker player from that event. She took home a little more than $350,000
for the win, and finished 27th place out of 6,500 players.
