We’re Finally Getting Somewhere
February
27, 2009
President Barack Obama is
working hard to fix our country, and no matter what you think of his
politics you have to agree that he is one of the hardest working people in
the government right now. The man pushed as hard as he could and got the
Economic Stimulus Bill passed, and that is just the beginning for the man.
It is great to see that change is coming to the US no matter what anyone
else says.
The beauty of this is that with him working so hard to get his first bill
passed, we can assume that this is now somewhat off of his plate, which
moves up everything else. And by moving up everything else of course, this
means that this puts us closer to getting somewhere on the overturning of
the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act or UIGEA and making online
poker legal again.
The fact that Obama could get this large of a piece of legislation passed in
a mere 26 days tells us that it shouldn’t take even part of that time to
make online poker legal. Many poker players, including the PPA voted for
Obama because they felt that he would get the UIGEA overturned, and at the
very least get poker players exempted from the act.
This seems like a step in the right direction, and because of the speed with
which things seem to be moving, many think that we could see online poker
legalized before the end of the year. Poker players – get ready to rejoice.
