Williams Pro Poker
February
20, 2009
The name Montel Williams conjures up the idea of bad afternoon talk shows
with chair throwing and questions of paternity. However, in this case
Williams is throwing his weight not behind a couple of mismatched lovers,
but rather behind poker instead. Not only that, but he is taking his love
and support of poker to the television nearest you.
Williams is going to be hosting a “reality television meets poker” show for
viewing audiences next November. He is going to be introducing the
International Team Poker League to those who want to watch his new poker
show.
He says that he loves poker because it “has everything” that you could want
in a game. It has the ability to be played by any class, any race, any
religion – it is truly a game for the masses. He says that with all of the
popularity that currently surrounds poker right now, it is the time to take
the International Poker League to “a new level and a wider audience.”
Many have known that he has been a poker buff for a long time but the fact
that he is starting a show about it shows you how dedicated he is to getting
poker out there. He says that without the internet he would not be able to
offer the poker show, and that because of that it is much more popular than
it would have been without it.
The poker show will be on both TV and on the internet, and will run like a
regular talent show. There were be tournaments at online poker casinos as
well as land based ones to get people for the show.
