No More Poker Tour

Gala Casinos has recently
announced that they are canceling the Gala Poker Tour. They say that they
have to spend more time on their online operations and the tour is taking
too much focus. This may be good for the company in terms of time spent, but
it has left many poker players very disappointed.
With the announcement, many poker players could not believe it. The Gala
Casinos British Poker Tour is on one of the most important poker events of
the year, and is easily one of the most popular. A large number of UK poker
players attend it every year, so they are devastated that the poker company
would choose to shelve it this year.
The poker site says that they will hold games at their online poker casino
site, which they think will help those in other countries who may not have
been able to make it for the tournament any way. Many understand the
decision because of the current economy, but just as many are shocked and
disappointed that they cancelled the event.
Poker insiders say that it is a mistake to remove the live poker event from
the offerings, and say that there are many people who would prefer it over a
poker site. However, the poker site says that they have more than $14
million in prize money to give away online, so it may be tough for many to
give that up.
