Tyner Joins Poker Board

The World Poker Association is
like any other company in the world, they have a Board of Directors or
people who decide who does what and when, and how it will affect the
company. In this case the World Poker Association’s Board provides
standardization to the various aspects of live poker tournaments and so it
is very important that they add the right people to the mix.
With that in mind, the WPA has announced that they have appointed Nancy Todd
Tyner to their board. Tyner was the winner of the World Poker Tour Ladies
Championship during Season Six and took home $68,000 in the process. She
says that it is interesting the people who recognize her from that, and find
people stopping to ask her poker questions wherever she goes.
Tyner brings a political perspective to the board that it did not really
have before. They are based in Las Vegas, in what many people call the US
hub of gambling. She thinks that the recent steps that the board has taken
regarding an attempt at uniformity of the poker games is a great idea and is
“important for poker.”
She says that many of the poker tournaments are a mish-mash of rules and the
way that they are played and thinks that they should be made more similar to
each other so that no matter which one you go into they are all the same.
This will make it easier on the poker players as well as the officials.
